INSTALLATION
When fitting the bull bar, keep in mind that to meet NZTA regulations, all daytime running lights should be installed separately from the headlights. Additionally, the fog lights need to be adjusted downward by about three degrees for optimal compliance and safety. Proper installation not only keeps you road legal but also ensures your bull bar functions perfectly over rugged terrain and challenging conditions.
If your vehicle’s original suspension isn’t upgraded, especially if you plan to add a steel bumper and optional winch, we strongly recommend upgrading your suspension system—particularly at the front—to handle the extra weight (around 60-100kgs). Unsurprisingly, without proper suspension support, your vehicle's ride quality can suffer, and the front may sag, leading to a bumpier ride and potential damage over time. Upgrading suspension helps distribute weight better, maintains ride comfort, and prolongs your vehicle’s lifespan.
When installing the bull bar, maintaining a gap of approximately 10-15mm between the bullbar and the vehicle’s body is a good idea. This space allows for independent movement between the chassis and body, preventing undue stress or cracking during off-road adventures or everyday driving.
