INSTALLATION

When installing your Rockarmor GT steel hoop bullbar, it's important to follow local regulations, like NZTA requirements, which specify that daytime running lights should be installed separately from your headlights. Also, adjusting the fog lights down by three degrees is recommended for proper beam alignment and safety during night driving.

If your vehicle’s suspension isn’t upgraded to handle additional weight—usually around 60-100kgs, especially if you’re adding a winch or a steel bumper—we highly suggest upgrading it beforehand. Upgrading the suspension, particularly at the front, helps prevent sagging, improves ride comfort, and guards against potential damage caused by the added weight of the bullbar or optional winch. Running factory suspension without upgrades may lead to unnecessary strain, uneven ride height, or even damage over time.

As a rule of thumb, leave at least a 10-15mm gap between the bullbar and the vehicle’s body. This space allows for natural movement of the chassis and body as they flex during off-road driving or loading and unloading, helping to prevent unnecessary stress or damage to your vehicle’s structure.
