Kren Bits Limited — Warranty Policy. Last updated: 8 May 2026. By purchasing any product from Kren Bits Limited (trading as Kren Bits / Kren Offroad, "Kren Bits", "we", "us", "our"), the customer ("you", "your") agrees to the following warranty terms.
1. Scope of warranty
This warranty applies only to products purchased directly from Kren Bits via krenbits.com or our authorised sales channels by the original purchaser, and is non-transferable. The warranty period is twelve (12) calendar months from the date of delivery as recorded by the freight carrier, except where a longer manufacturer's warranty applies and is explicitly stated on the relevant product page at the time of purchase.
2. Coverage
This warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship under normal use, fitted in accordance with the manufacturer's published instructions to a vehicle on the manufacturer's published compatibility list, where the product is used for its intended purpose.
3. Exclusions
This warranty does not cover: damage caused by accident, misuse, abuse, neglect, or use beyond intended purpose; damage caused by incorrect installation, modification, alteration, or unauthorised repair; cosmetic wear, fade, corrosion, abrasion, stone chips, or damage from environmental exposure; consumable items including but not limited to bushes, fluids, filters, brake components, tyres, batteries, and bulbs reaching their service interval; products fitted to vehicles outside the published compatibility list; products purchased through unauthorised third-party resellers; and damage occurring during transit where delivery was accepted without notation of damage to the freight carrier.
4. Indirect & consequential loss
Except as required by applicable consumer protection law, Kren Bits is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages of any nature arising from the use of, or inability to use, any product, including but not limited to lost time, lost profits, lost vehicle use, towing costs, accommodation, substitute transport, or any other indirect economic loss.
5. Statutory rights — New Zealand
For customers in New Zealand, this warranty is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986. Nothing in this warranty excludes, restricts, or modifies any guarantee, condition, warranty, right, or remedy implied or imposed by any applicable New Zealand law. Where this warranty is inconsistent with a non-excludable provision of those Acts, the relevant Act prevails to the extent of the inconsistency.
6. Statutory rights — Australia
For customers in Australia, this warranty is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010). Nothing in this warranty excludes, restricts, or modifies any guarantee, condition, warranty, right, or remedy implied or imposed by any applicable Australian Commonwealth, State, or Territory law.
7. Australian Consumer Law mandatory wording
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
8. Claim procedure
Claims must be lodged within the warranty period and within a reasonable time after the defect becomes apparent. Claims must be supported by proof of purchase, photographic and video evidence of the defect, vehicle and fitment details, and any other reasonable information requested by Kren Bits or the manufacturer. Claims submitted with incomplete information will be paused until complete; the warranty period clock continues to run during such pauses.
9. Inspection & assessment
Kren Bits reserves the right to inspect the product, request return of the product to Kren Bits or to the manufacturer for assessment, or to instruct an authorised third-party assessor. The customer is responsible for safe and tracked return shipping in the first instance. If the claim is approved, Kren Bits will reimburse reasonable return shipping costs by NZ or AU domestic ground freight. If the claim is not approved (no defect found, fault outside coverage), the customer is responsible for return shipping back to them, and any inspection or assessment costs.
10. Resolution
Where a claim is approved, Kren Bits will, at its sole discretion and in line with the manufacturer's policy, repair the product, replace the product with an identical or equivalent unit, or refund the original purchase price. Where the manufacturer has a published authorised repair pathway, that pathway will be used. Replacements are warranted only for the unexpired balance of the original warranty period.
11. Restocking and shipping on rejected claims
Products returned to Kren Bits and assessed as not eligible under this warranty may, at the customer's request, be processed as a change-of-mind return subject to our Returns & Refund Policy, including the standard 25% restocking and administration fee. Otherwise, the product will be returned to the customer at the customer's cost.
12. Transit damage
Products that arrive visibly damaged must be noted on the courier's manifest at the point of delivery, or the delivery refused. The customer must contact Kren Bits within 24 hours of delivery with photographs of the damage and the original packaging. Transit damage claims raised outside this window may not be honoured by the freight carrier and may not be recoverable under this warranty.
13. Modifications voiding warranty
Any modification, alteration, repair, or non-authorised servicing of the product after delivery — including welding, cutting, drilling, repainting, repowdercoating, replacement of supplied hardware with non-original equivalents, or fitting accessories not approved by the manufacturer — voids this warranty in respect of the affected product or component.
14. Vehicle compatibility
This warranty applies only where the product has been fitted to a vehicle that appears on the manufacturer's published fitment compatibility list. Modifications to make a product fit a vehicle outside that list (cutting, drilling, fabrication, custom mounts, etc.) are at the customer's risk and void this warranty in respect of the affected product.
15. Variation of these terms
Kren Bits may vary these warranty terms from time to time. The terms applicable to your purchase are those in force on the date of your order, as recorded in our order management system.
16. Governing law & jurisdiction
For New Zealand customers, this warranty is governed by the laws of New Zealand, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand. For Australian customers, this warranty is governed by the laws of the State or Territory in which the customer resides, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that State or Territory. For customers outside NZ and AU, this warranty is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Zealand.
17. Privacy & data
Information you provide as part of a warranty claim is collected, used, and stored in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We may share your information with the relevant manufacturer, freight carrier, or authorised assessor to the extent necessary to assess and resolve your claim. By submitting a claim you consent to such sharing.
18. Severability
If any provision of these warranty terms is held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision will be severed and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
19. Entire agreement
These warranty terms, together with our Returns & Refund Policy, Shipping Policy, Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Kren Bits regarding warranty matters and supersede all prior or contemporaneous understandings, communications, or representations.
